HELENA ELISABETH is based outside Lammhult in the countryside in Småland, in southern Sweden. Here I have my studio, as well as my home, with production, weaving of fabrics and design and sewing of garments.
I find my inspiration both in old handwoven traditional textiles and in more experimental fashion, classic garments but still with details that stand out.
My textile journey probably started as a child, as the granddaughter of a tailor and handicraft women, I grew up with a sense of creativity, quality and well-fitted clothing. But in a way, still unaware of it until I started weaving and sewing as a young adult.
My passion for weaving, when I found it, was so strong that I got my own mechanical old industrial loom, to be able to weave more rationally but still a very small-scale production. A few years ago, I took seriously my longing to immerse myself in sewing and pattern construction and attended Tillskärarakademin in Gothenburg for a year.
With a background as a weaver and a passion for fabrics and clothing, high quality craftsmanship and fashion have inspired me to create a collection of garments, with a tailored, smart and expressive look. The collection is gradually expanded piece by piece.
